Site surveys

In preparation of habitat deployment, our fully trained team will conduct a site survey for your project to develop a detailed understanding of the scope and its associated risks and controls. This enables us to add real value by proactively formulating the best approach to any specific application, ensuring our solution keeps the workforce safe whilst maintaining production. 

We offer a comprehensive site survey:

  • Ventilation and power supply requirements 
  • Basic lighting, fire protection, escape route requirements 
  • Habitat 3D model drawings based on information provided

  • Specific outputs from meetings with operations, scaffolding team and other stakeholders on site 
  • Exact requirements for power, escape routes, fire protection 
  • Escape plans (where required) 
  • Detailed description of timelines, pre-work requirements, permit requirements

This provides our customers with a comprehensive end-to-end service for all transport and logistics associated with their Safehouse project, including the storage of equipment when it is not in use. 

Installation & Monitoring

The experience and knowledge of our technician team offer an unrivalled service level, ensuring that our installation and monitoring services are executed to the highest possible standard. This is a key differentiator for Safehouse and guarantees a safe and successful project delivery.

Training

Starn’s Pressurised Work Enclosure (PWE or Habitat) systems are engineered to the
highest standards. A critical component of safe and effective deployment is the training
and competency of personnel. This guide outlines the structure of Starn’s training
programme, designed to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant use of PWE systems
across industries.

Each course includes assessments to verify understanding and practical ability. Successful candidates receive certificates, which can be used by clients to verify competency levels.

Starn Group training aims to:

  • Equip candidates with core skills and knowledge for safe and efficient PWE use.
  • Provide a progressive learning experience that build and documents competency.
  • Align with recognised educational standards and support Continual Professional
    Development (CPD).
  • Include product guides, operational instructions and Standard Operating
    Procedures (SOP).
  • Offer global training delivery and competency verification for clients.

We offer the following modules:

PWE Habitat Awareness

Target Audience: Clients, operators, contractors, and health & safety personnel.

Purpose: To provide a practical understanding of PWE Habitats as engineered controls in
hazardous environments (primarily Zone 1 and 2).

Learning Outcomes: Available on request.

PWE Habitat Builder

Target audience: Personnel involved in the physical construction of PWE Habitats.

Prerequisites: None.

Purpose: To train candidates in the construction and setup of PWE Habitats.

Certification Outcome: Qualified to build habitats under the supervision of a certified PWE Habitat Technician.

Learning Outcomes: Available on request.

PWE Habitat Technician

Target Audience: Experienced Habitat Builders progressing to the technician role.

Prerequisites: Successful completion of the PWE Habitat Builder course.

Certification Outcome: Qualified to manage ad deliver PWE projects, including design modifications in collaboration with clients and contractors.

Learning Outcomes: Available on request.
